Volunteer Opportunities


Every volunteer who serves an eight (8) hour shift on any of our job positions will receive a T-shirt – Free Admission …not to mention the reward of knowing they are making a difference!

Standard Shifts are 10am-2pm; 2pm-6pm; 6pm-10/11pm each day. We are asking all volunteers to be onsite and at the Volunteer Office/Tent a one hour before their assigned shift so shift changes run smoothly. Some jobs listed below will require longer shifts and we appreciate the extra effort!

Super Vol: This is the job for someone who likes a challenge! This is for the person who just wants to help and is willing to fill in where ever the need is greatest. It could mean waiting to react quickly to a problem that might arise or filling the gap at any one of the other jobs that we only have one or two spots open or need a few more folks at jobs that are listed. We are planning to have 4 hour shifts and volunteers can do multiple shifts if they so choose. We will need at least 10 volunteers who are 16 & older per shift.

Crafts, Culinary, Collectibles: We need volunteers to work before the Fair begins with taking in items, clerking/ribboning during judging day, helping with display of the items, working the culinary contests, and gardening contests. During the Fair, we need volunteers to work in the area greeting people and showing them around the displays. Parking Attendants - helping direct people onsite to the open lots and getting them safely parked as well as directing folks to the closest gate. We will need teams everyday for Parking with the biggest needs on the weekends and Labor Day – Sept. 5th. We are planning to have 4 hour shifts and volunteers can do multiple shifts if they so choose.

Garbage Pick Up - helping to keep the grounds clean as well as emptying the garbage cans. We will need teams everyday for Garbage Pick Up with the biggest needs on the weekends and Labor Day – Sept. 5th. We are planning to have 4 hour shifts and volunteers can do multiple shifts if they so choose. We will need at least 10 volunteers who are 16 & older per shift.

Contest Oversight - helping organize and run various contests – pie eating contests, hamburger eating contests, etc… We will need teams everyday for Contest Oversight with the biggest needs on the weekends and Labor Day – Sept. 2nd. We are planning to have 4 hour shifts and volunteers can do multiple shifts if they so choose. We will need at least 10 volunteers who are 16 & older per shift.

Stage Hands - Stage Hands must be 18yrs or over. Volunteers for this job must be willing to work an 8hr + shift/ day. This job is for someone who doesn’t mind lifting and moving heavy band equipment. You work very hard then you sit for a while so be prepared for the slow and busy times - bring your muscles and a pair of work gloves. We will need at least 12 Stage Hands to help set up and tear down before and after the fair. (20 openings per shift / first shift - 11a-7p or 7p / around 2am - shift times vary). We are planning to have 4 hour shifts and volunteers can do multiple shifts if they so choose. We will need at least 10 volunteers who are 18 & older per shift.

Runners - Runners must be 18 yrs or over with a good driving record. This job entails being available to run and get supplies off site as needed. Gas will be reimbursed – vehicle is required. We will need at least 10 volunteers who are 18 & older per shift.

Hospitality/Rest Tents - helping the elderly get around, offering cold water, etc.. We will need teams everyday for the Hospitality/Rest Tents with the biggest needs on the weekends and Labor Day – Sept. 5th. We are planning to have 4 hour shifts and volunteers can do multiple shifts if they so choose. We will need at least 6 volunteers who are 16 & older per shift.

First Aid - We need Doctors, PAs and Nurses to staff our first aid trailer. We have a great group of dedicated volunteers who provide TLC and quality first aid to our campers. (a copy of your license and an interview will be required) (10 openings – hours are set by the First Aid volunteers at the start of the Fest) We are planning to have 4 hour shifts and volunteers can do multiple shifts if they so choose.

Security - This is for someone (21 yrs or OLDER) who works well with others and keeps order through gentle words and friendly suggestions. You would work with our hired security people to make sure that all is going well with the crowds, cars and campers - SMILE! (6 openings per shift / 4hr shifts starting at 8a and ending at Midnight) The security areas to choose from are: Parking (secure restricted areas), Grounds (monitor grounds), or Back Stage (keep folks out of back stage area-may involve some set-up) Gate (monitor cars coming in and out of the grounds). We are planning to have 4 hour shifts and volunteers can do multiple shifts if they so choose.
