Lana J. hails from Memphis, a city steeped in the
Grind, Blues & Soul culture. At the age of 13, she was
admitted to the Stax Music Academy, where she
honed her skills in songwriting, live performances,
production, and recording.This early exposure to
music shaped Lana J.'s musical preferences, which
include early R&B, Neo-Soul, Funk, and Gospel.
In college, she earned a B.A. in Popular and
Commercial Music from Loyola University New
Orleans. Her latest project, "Breathe", released in
April 2022, captures her core soul and offers a
soothing reminder to prioritize self-care. Planning
to release a new single, "Take it Slow", a story of
growth capitalizing on the seeds we plant in our
lives; a special release supporting her personal grief
journey and an EP in May/June 2024, with so much
in store marking a creative renaissance in her
career.
